James J. Williams, Jr.

Mr. Williams obtained his B.A. in Philosophy from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin, in 1977, and his J.D. from the Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1980. After graduating from law school, Mr. Williams served as in-house counsel with the Atlanta Real Estate Investments Office of Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. During his tenure, Metropolitan's investments included real estate mortgages, joint ventures and ownership in major southeastern real estate projects. Mr. Williams' duties included representing the company in the acquisition and sale of its real estate investments, the leasing of its properties, and mortgage loan servicing.

Just prior to forming Marks & Williams, LLC, Mr. Williams worked in the real estate section of Elrod & Thompson of Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Williams represented local and national real estate investors and developers in the acquisition, financing and sale of office buildings, business centers and warehouses, the development of local business and residential subdivisions, and the management and leasing of commercial properties. Mr. Williams also closed commercial real estate loans for various financial institutions.

Representative Clients and Transactions. Mr. Williams practices both residential and commercial real estate out of the Johns Creek office. He closes residential, construction, acquisition and development and commercial loans for several banks and over fifty local mortgage lenders. Mr. Williams also represents individuals and companies who are acquiring or selling residential and commercial properties, and assists clients with management and lease administration of their real estate holdings. Mr. Williams also conducts commercial real estate and construction loan closings for numerous local lending institutions.

Mr. Williams is a member of the Board of Directors of The Adaptive Center for Infants and Children, the Suwanee Business Alliance and the Johns Creek Business Association.
